  1. CLUB ELECTION UPDATE:
    The ongoing membership subscription has initiated the election process. It is important to note that all membership fees should be paid through the Bank of Africa Paybill number 972900, Account number 01014080008, under the account name Gor Mahia FC. Additionally, Pay bill number 350100 is also a valid transaction platform, but it will not be utilized for the membership drive. Individuals who have used 350100 for payment will be consolidated with others using the Bank of Africa pay bill when the membership register is compiled at the end of the subscription period, which concludes on August 31, 2024.
  2. GMFC 2019 CONSTITUTION:
    The current constitution came into effect in 2020 when the current club President was elected. This means they have only served one term and are eligible to run again in the upcoming elections. The previous constitution had no term limits, allowing officeholders to run for an indefinite number of terms. According to the Sports Act of 2013, all elective positions are granted 4-years a term with the possibility of serving 1 term if reelected. Therefore, the President is eligible to run for one more term, together with other officials, should they offer themselves to the members for elections.
  3. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM) AND ELECTORAL BOARD:
    The Secretary-General will convene an Annual General Meeting (AGM) per the constitution. All registered members must receive a 21-day notice as stipulated in Article 11 of the constitution. At the AGM, the nominees for the electoral board will be ratified. Subsequently, the board will be responsible for overseeing the election process, including establishing rules, managing the process, and announcing the election results. Any member wishing to run for office must obtain approval from at least 20 paid-up branches, among other requirements.
  4. OFFICIAL CLUB COMMUNICATION
    During the interview, the club President emphasized that the official spokesperson of the club is the Secretary-General and himself. He urged the public to ignore any information that doesn’t come from the official communication channels, including Gor Mahia FC’s official media department. He mentioned that the recent unauthorized communication a few days ago should be disregarded, and that club followers and the general public should not be misled by such confusion.
  5. FOOTBALL CALENDAR
    Gor Mahia FC will start the season with a community shield match against Kenya Police FC on August 11, 2024. The match, sponsored by Mozzart Bet, will take place at the Ulinzi Complex and begin at 3:00 PM EAT. On August 15, 2024, Gor Mahia will travel to South Sudan to play against El-Merriekh SC – Bentiu in Juba. The return match is scheduled a week later at Nyayo National Stadium in the highly-rated Champions League match organized by CAF. Additionally, the Kenya Premier League will commence on August 24, 2024, with Gor Mahia facing Talanta FC.
  6. PLAYERS GO SLOW AND RESUMPTION TO TRAINING
    The President has announced that the players have resumed training after the unfortunate go-slow, which he condemned as being triggered by people both within and outside of the team. He mentioned that all the players have since written to the Executive Committee, apologizing for the embarrassing moment. Additionally, he stated that investigations into the misconduct are underway and those found most responsible will be punished. He concluded by saying that the club will unveil the 5 new signings that were made in the latest transfer window to the public.
